Niskayuna police are calling for witnesses after a fatal four-car collision Monday night on Troy-Schenectady Road near Riverview Road. The crash, which happened around 9:25 p.m. on Monday (March 16), resulted in one death and sent three others to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the WRGB CBS6 Albany report.
Officials said that two vehicles collided head-on, leading to two more cars crashing into them. Emergency crews from Niskayuna Fire Districts #1 and #2, Mohawk Ambulance, and the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Three victims were transported to Ellis Hospital, where one later died, while a fourth was taken to Albany Medical Center, as reported by WNYT NewsChannel 13.
The identities of those involved have not been released. The Niskayuna Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash with assistance from the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team and New York State Police.
