COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WANE) – If you saw cops at Sugar Creek Donuts on Wednesday, they were working.
“We’re a fairly small town; Columbia City, for the most part, is really safe,” said co-owner Jesse Eisenhower. “We never ever worried about being robbed or anything like that … but we thought if it did happen, that they would take donuts too.”
Eisenhower and his wife, Ellie, have been running Sugar Creek Donuts since 2021. Their combination of bakery and ministry under one roof had been pretty sweet, until Wednesday, when they closed the shop to deal with a family emergency…
