Georgia fraud case shows ‘staggering greed’ as Amazon contractor convicted in $10M scheme

SMYRNA, Ga. — A Georgia jury has convicted an Amazon delivery contractor in what investigators describe as a “staggering” fraud scheme that cost the company nearly $10 million.

Federal prosecutors say 40-year-old Brittany Hudson of Atlanta was found guilty on 30 counts tied to fraud, money laundering, and forging the signature of a federal judge.

The level of greed on the part of the perpetrators in this case was staggering,” said Special Agent in Charge Robert Donovan of the U.S. Secret Service Atlanta Field Office. “Leveraging personal relationships, she stole millions from Amazon and was so confident she wouldn’t be caught, she even forged the signature of a federal judge with the intent of defrauding a second company.

Prosecutors say Hudson owned Legend Express LLC, a business contracted with Amazon to deliver packages. They say she worked with Kayricka Wortham, an operations manager at an Amazon warehouse in Smyrna, Georgia, to carry out the scheme…
