Massive $450 million facility coming to Pa. that will create hundreds of jobs, help fight cancer

A $450 million manufacturing facility is coming to Philadelphia.

TerraPower Isotopes will build the location to produce rare medical isotopes used in cancer-fighting drugs, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced. The project will create 225 full-time jobs over the next three years.

The nuclear science company will lease a 250,000-square-foot facility in the Bellwether District, a commercial redevelopment on the site of the former Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery. The plant will produce actinium-225, a radioisotope used in targeted cancer therapies…
