Amid several departures, city of Wilmington begins restructuring

The city of Wilmington’s human resources director recently resigned, adding to a string of changes in city leadership over the past several months. Meanwhile, the city has announced an organizational restructuring.

Clayton Roberts, in an email to city employees, said he submitted his resignation on Feb. 25 in order to pursue another professional opportunity. He said his final day on the job would be March 13.

“It has been an honor to serve this organization for the past 14 years,” Roberts wrote. “I am especially proud of and thankful for the HR team and have full confidence they will continue doing great work for the organization moving forward. I am also grateful for the collaboration, candor, and professionalism so many of you have consistently demonstrated across departments.”
