Cleanup underway after storm damages Virginia Beach greenhouse, neighborhoods

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Cleanup efforts are in full swing along London Bridge Road and surrounding neighborhoods after Monday’s powerful wind event left a trail of structural damage and debris.

WAVY Chief Meteorologist Jeff Edmondson said there were no tornadoes confirmed in Virginia Beach, but there were straight-line winds.

At London Bridge Greenhouses and Nursery, located near Interstate 264, surveillance video captured the moment straight-line winds ripped through the property. The storm tore away sections of the greenhouse covering and dislodged a large piece of the metal structure…
