New restaurant brings Sicilian flavors to Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City is getting a new Sicilian-inspired Italian spot near Liberty Park.

State of play: ‘mina opens Wednesday at 439 E. 900 South, serving house-made pastas, breads, gelato, and a curated list of wine and cocktails.

  • The menu leans on Italian imports — olive oil, capers, specialty flours — paired with locally sourced produce and meats, per a news release.

Between the lines: The restaurant’s name is a nod to Taormina, a seaside town in Italy where one of the restaurant’s owners, Giro Messeri, grew up.

  • Danielle McGuire and Adam Rosh are also co-owners.
