BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Civil rights leader and activist Dolores Huerta said in a statement Wednesday Cesar Chavez sexually assaulted her and fathered two of her children.
The icon and life-long Kern County resident dropped the bombshell the same day The New York Times published results of a year-long investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by United Farmworkers founder Cesar Chavez.

Besides Huerta, the Times named two women who said they were molested by Chavez as young girls. One said she was speaking out because the City of Bakersfield is considering renaming H Street to Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
