BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The man at the center of a kidnapping case in Buncombe County has been sentenced.
In a release, the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office said Dennis Tyrone Garnett, Jr. was sentenced to serve five to seven years in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
Garnett pleaded guilty to:
- Felony first-degree kidnapping
- Felony intimidating a state’s witness
- Communicating threats
- Domestic violence
The court also ordered that he not have any contact with the victim.
According to the release, Asheville Police were called to a domestic violence incident on Tunnel Road on Dec. 2, 2025. Dispatchers reported hearing Garnett threatening and physically assaulting the victim…
