University of Michigan poll shows teens exhibiting risky driving behaviors

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – A poll from the University of Michigan says half of parents with children between the ages of sixteen to twenty-five, have witnessed risky behaviors while driving.

While risky driving behaviors like driving while intoxicated, or texting are illegal, some such as eating or checking hair are common behaviors from teens and young adults as well.

Surprisingly, despite noticing such distracted behaviors from their child, most parents in the poll did not label their child as having a worse driving ability. Sarah Clark, the poll’s co-director, believes part of the problem may be parents themselves engage in such risky behavior while driving…
