South Carolina man found dead in field, police launch homicide investigation

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A homicide investigation is underway in northwest Charlotte after a person was found dead on Tuesday morning.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers were called around 10:15 a.m. to assist Medic in the 700 block of Belmeade Drive, near Mount Holly Road. When they arrived, they discovered a person who had died at the scene.

CMPD said the victim, 24-year-old Julian Spencer of Rock Hill, South Carolina, was found in a utility right-of-way, an open area near power lines.

Officials have not released any information about a possible suspect. The case remains active as detectives work to determine what led to the death…
