Hamilton County Superintendent backs Tennessee bill to cut benchmark tests for students

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — Some Tennessee public school students may soon take less benchmark tests under a bill making its way through the state General Assembly.

The Superintendent for Hamilton County Schools testified in support of the legislation Wednesday.

If passed, the bill would create a pilot program allowing school districts to reduce testing requirements for some students.
