The Town of White Bluff recently announced that it has been awarded a significant grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to support its purchase of an all-electric vehicle.
Part of the Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grant Program, the grant totaling $160,305 will enable the Town of White Bluff to further its mission of updating aging equipment for their Street Department to better serve the community.
The grant will specifically fund the replacement of a utility truck that is 30 years old with a larger, new energy efficient vehicle. This new vehicle will have a larger cargo capacity with the ability to hold salt-spreading equipment in the winter, thereby making a substantial impact on streets during inclement weather.
