(WJET/WFXP)– PennDOT is urging residents to avoid clicking any links after receiving reports of suspicious text messages being sent out pretending to be from them and the DMV.
PennDOT posted a warning about the scam texts on its website, reminding residents that they do not send out texts about traffic violations or fines, adding that the texts circulating are being used to obtain personal information like bank account information.

In order to avoid being scammed, do not click on the link, never share your Social Security number, bank account details, or other personal information via text.
