GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Guilford County Sheriff’s Office deputy battling Stage 5 kidney failure is searching for a living donor as she continues working and managing nightly dialysis treatments.
Rajanique Austin, who works as a courthouse deputy, said symptoms began weeks before her diagnosis — extreme fatigue and shortness of breath on her walk from the parking deck to the building. She initially dismissed them as signs of overworking herself.
