MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tipton County man is facing multiple charges of sexual assault against a young girl after the victim confided in a school official about the alleged abuse.
Zachary Ty Clark, 27, was arrested on Friday, March 13th, and charged with Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure.
The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office said Clark was living with the victim’s mother and had sexually assaulted the girl numerous times in the home over the last six months.

Clark appeared before General Sessions Judge M.O. Eckel for his arraignment on Tuesday and is being held on a $50,000 bond pending his next court date on March 24.
“This case involves an individual who was trusted to live within the home, be a guardian and protector of this home, only to exploit that position in one of the worst possible ways,” said Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley. “Protecting our children and our youth is a top priority for our office, especially from predators. Sex crimes and abuse against our youth will absolutely be pursued with relentless determination, and we will do our best to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. I want to thank the school officials who reported this abuse, and I thank our deputies and detectives for the job they did throughout this investigation to bring this perpetrator to justice.”…
