A yellow school bus packed with community leaders, volunteers and golden trophies rolled through Collier County Monday morning, stopping at six schools where classrooms erupted in cheers.
The bus carried the Golden Apple “Prize Patrol,” organized by nonprofit group Champions for Learning, which surprised six educators on March 16 after they were selected as the district’s newest Golden Apple recipients. The annual award recognizes outstanding teachers in Collier County Public Schools.
