Read To Succeed Receives Governor’s Volunteer Star Award for Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — On Sunday, March 8, 2026, Read To Succeed was presented with the 2025 Governor’s Volunteer Star Award as the Nonprofit Honoree for Middle Tennessee. The award recognizes the extraordinary dedication of the organization’s volunteers, whose time and talents make literacy programming possible throughout Rutherford County.

Read To Succeed’s volunteers support a wide range of initiatives, including Family Literacy Nights, the Imagination Station early childhood program, Adult Basic Education one-on-one tutoring, English as a Second Language classes, office support, and volunteer readers for the annual Reading in the Schools Day event. Volunteers also assist with many community literacy initiatives and outreach events throughout the year, helping distribute books, engage families in literacy activities, and represent Read To Succeed at community gatherings and special events.
