Cold snap leaves Port St. Lucie yards littered; city urges safe curbside cleanup

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — After the recent cold snap, many residents are noticing wilted leaves, brown fronds, and fallen branches in their yards. Clearing this debris is important for safety, storm readiness, and keeping the City’s drainage system clear.

To help, the City of Port St. Lucie’s Office of Solid Waste announced it will temporarily increase the weekly yard waste limit to 6 cubic yards per household from March 30 to April 24, 2026. This is 50% more than the usual limit and comes at no extra cost…
