Recent rain impacts Lake Ontario water level prediction

Rochester, N.Y. (WROC) — Heavy March rainfall in the Great Lakes region has prompted the body that monitors Lake Ontario’s water level to change its spring prediction.

After suggesting at the start of the month that lake levels would remain at or slightly below average, the International Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board is now predicting water levels to slightly exceed the average, but adds that flooding risk remains minimal.
