(KRON) — A San Jose man was arrested for allegedly stealing an entire ATM machine from a business on South Winchester Boulevard.
Police identified the alleged ATM thief as Joseph Pesti, 56, of San Jose. Officers were called to the business on Jan. 28 for a burglary that occurred the night before. Investigators determined that the thief left the scene in a white van.
Pesti was also connected to a commercial burglary on February 24 involving multiple suspects. “The suspect took several tools including generators and drills worth over an estimated 16,000 dollars,” the San Jose Police Department wrote.
“Analysts rapidly reviewed the surveillance footage and, within 24 hours, were able to identify suspect vehicles using SJPD Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology. Through this process, RTIC (Real Time Intelligence Center) analysts successfully identified two of the three suspects involved in the commercial burglary,” SJPD wrote…
