Whiteford board approves water-well study; state rep vows to lobby quarry owner

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. — Whiteford Township is hiring its former engineer to do a hydrology study it hopes will provide answers for residents about their parched water wells.

The township board agreed Tuesday night by a 4-1 vote to hire David Arthur Consultants of Dundee, Mich., to do the study at a cost of $40,000. The firm was founded by Dave Kubiske, who spent about 20 years associated with the township as its engineer.
