Man arrested for attempted robbery at Lexington gas station, police say

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A man was arrested for attempting to rob a Thornton’s gas station in downtown Lexington, according to Lexington police.

Officers report that Roger R. David, 48 years old, walked into a Thornton’s gas station around 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

According to his arrest citation, he wore a face covering, and demanded that the employees give him all of the money in the register. David told the employees that he was carrying a firearm.

David was successfully detained by the Lexington police department and no one was injured during the robbery. He was charged with first degree robbery…
