Free groceries to be distributed by UNT Dallas on March 20

Dallas (KDAF) — The University of North Texas at Dallas will host a monthly drive-through food pantry from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, March 20, offering free groceries to North Texans in need.

The event, held in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, is open to students, families and community members across southern Dallas and surrounding areas. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Organizers said the university’s food pantry program has distributed about 34,000 pounds of food to nearly 3,000 people so far this year. That follows the 820,000 pounds provided to more than 31,000 people during the 2024–2025 period.
