Former principal sues Des Moines schools, alleging discrimination

A former Des Moines Public Schools principal is suing the district, alleging racial discrimination and retaliation.

Fairouz Bishara-Rantisi Martinez, who served as principal of Hoyt Middle School prior to the current school year, is suing the district in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. She is seeking unspecified damages for alleged violations of the Iowa Civil Rights Act, as well as harassment and retaliation.
