Man ordered to mental hospital after insanity acquittal in New Orleans Uber driver’s murder

Three weeks after a Harvey man was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the brutal stabbing death of his Uber driver, a Jefferson Parish judge on Wednesday committed him to the state mental health hospital.

Judge Lee Faulkner of the 24th Judicial District Court ruled that Brandon Jacobs, 33, was a danger to himself and others and ordered him into the custody of the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System for treatment.
