SAN ANTONIO – A man was arrested following a tense, hours-long standoff at a local park that began early in the morning and stemmed from an earlier domestic assault.
According to law enforcement officials, the situation unfolded after an incident between the man and his girlfriend late Tuesday night, between midnight and 1 a.m. During that encounter, the man allegedly committed a misdemeanor assault before leaving the scene.
The man returned several hours later, around 4 a.m., driving his truck to a nearby park while armed with a handgun. He remained in the area for hours, intermittently leaving and returning, while making statements indicating he intended to harm himself…
