The new menu items at Greater Nevada Field as Reno Aces’ executive chef leans into local

Melissa Williams, the executive chef at Greater Nevada Field, began her professional sports catering career at the ballpark in 2017.

Back then, she was a cook before working her way up to sous chef. Williams them departed for stints at NASCAR and Major League Soccer. She returned to Northern Nevada last July and this year had the chance to build her first full menu for the Reno Aces. During the three-month planning period, Williams said her focal point was keeping things local.

“My biggest focus was making sure this was Reno,” Williams said. “This is the Biggest Little City. Why are you coming to Greater Nevada Field beyond a hot dog or a nacho or soft serve or a really great beer? We are focused on everything that’s great cuisine-wise, culturally, locally. That’s one thing you’ll notice around the park. We’ve partnered with some vendors from the get-go and were excited to create and go from there.”…
