Aloha Stadium dismantling continues as plans for new entertainment district move ahead

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Work continues at Aloha Stadium as crews move forward with the dismantling process, signaling another step toward the site’s long-term redevelopment.

New Aloha Stadium renderings: ‘No bench seating!’

Two pedestrian spirals near the former ticket booth have already been taken down. Over the next week, crews are expected to continue working their way along the north and west sides of the stadium, where additional spirals and crossover bridges will also be removed.

The changes come as part of the transition into the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District. Plans include a new stadium with an estimated 31,000 seats and the ability to expand for larger events, including concerts and major productions.

Beyond the stadium itself, the project outlines a broader vision—featuring thousands of housing units, hotel developments, and a mixed-use retail area designed to serve both residents and visitors…
