A busy DeKalb County crossroads turned into a crime scene Wednesday afternoon after a person was shot near the intersection of Glenwood Road and Austin Drive in unincorporated Decatur. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, and authorities did not immediately release information about the person’s condition. Officers blocked off part of the area while detectives documented the scene and interviewed witnesses.
According to Atlanta News First, a DeKalb County Police Department spokesperson said the shooting happened near Exxon and Marathon gas stations and several restaurants, and confirmed that the victim had been transported to the hospital. The outlet reported that investigators have not yet released additional details as the case remains open.
