ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) — An Asheville man was sentenced Wednesday to a minimum of 30 years in prison for the 2024 killing of an elderly man at an apartment complex.
57-year-old Garland William Kuykendall, Jr. pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of 72-year-old Robert Earl Griggs. A Buncombe County Superior Court judge ordered Kuykendall to serve 30 to 37 years in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
