Augusta leaders ready to transition to a new way to maintain the city

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Cutting the grass on city property is in for a change, with commissioners approving the plan to turn all landscaping over to a new single department, but some city leaders are not sure if new will mean better.

“Let’s do this to try and get a long haul out of it. let’s do it right and let’s not hurt another department in the process of doing it. I’m totally for having a landscape department, but I want it done right,” said Commissioner Lonnie Wimberly, who voted against the plan.
