Highway 58 VFD battles inaccessible cabin, barn fire in Harrison Wednesday night

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — A cabin and barn burned to the ground Wednesday evening in Harrison, sparking a woods fire that scorched about an acre before crews contained it. That’s according to the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management.

The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 8:30 p.m. after a motorist called 911 to report a large fire that appeared to be coming from the nearby landfill. Responding crews discovered the fire was actually coming from Massengale Hollow Road.
