PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A turbulent storm that passed through the Hampton Roads region was a heavy hitter for many places, including an alley in the Port Norfolk area of Portsmouth just off Maryland Avenue, where a massive tree fell on a pair of trucks late Monday night — one of those trucks crushed like a soda can under the heavy trunks.
Storm damage reported across region
Hauke Powers said he did not hear the tree fall overnight, but the damage was clear as day when he walked outside and saw what happened.
“My face fell faster than a rock going downhill,” Powers said with a laugh as he found both of his trucks smacked flat by a large tree in the alley.
