Verona Well Field outside Battle Creek declared PFAS site

PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Michigan PFAS Action Response Team has declared the Verona Well Field Superfund site as a PFAS contamination site.

The Verona Well Field near Brigden Drive was declared a superfund site by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the 1980s for contaminated soil and groundwater.

The EPA sited the property for contamination with hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds, trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene. Now we know there is PFAS there, too…
