I truly support the gate operations and the attendants. I do, however, feel that the community would be much better served as a “gated community.” Currently, the gates serve some purpose, primarily for video imagery of license plates. I believe homeowners would be better served by a more thorough application of identifying residence. There is increasing crime here in The Villages. That is fact. Our Community and our “retired” homeowners deserve higher standards of security. I believe we have fallen from the prime retirement destination to a simple large housing development. Our residents, especially the elderly, deserve a much more robust level of security.
