STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — North Shore community representatives plan to hold a healthcare symposium in the coming weeks, the Advance/SILive.com has learned.
Staten Island Community Board 1’s Health and Human Services Committee Chair Fran Reali raised concerns about the Island’s growing and aging population, and said she’s working with the Island’s two hospital systems to set up a meeting where community members can learn more about the state of the borough’s healthcare.
“If you don’t have an infrastructure for health care for even just the 500,000 people here, then we are all, excuse my language, screwed,” she said. “That is a very, very precarious position for us to be standing on this precipice.”…
