LFR Crews Continue Helping Fight Morrill County Wildfire

LINCOLN–(KFOR Mar. 18)–About 11 members of Lincoln Fire and Rescue are still helping fight the Morrill County wildfire in western Nebraska, which has been active and burning since last Thursday when a power pole was blown over and a snapped wire ignited a fire that’s burned, so far, about 650,000 acres of land.

LFR public information officer MJ Lierman says the 11 members from LFR are helping protect structures and doing recon in those affected areas, while looking for hot spots. Lierman says crew members are also working in different places to reduce any flare ups. She adds two new crew members exchanged out with two other crew members heading back to Lincoln…
