Opelousas teen accused of reporting 5 fake bomb threats at Northwest High

OPELOUSAS, La. (NEWS 15) — An Opelousas teen is behind bars for allegedly making multiple bogus bomb threats at a local high school, according to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lyam Garcia, 18, of Opelousas, is charged with five counts of terrorizing and five counts of communicating of false information of planned bombing on school property. Sources confirmed the fake threats targeted Northwest High.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz reported that the investigation linked Garcia to making threats at the same school dating back to January 16. He explained that sufficient probable cause led to obtaining and executing an arrest warrant for Garcia…
