Nearly 60 animals rescued from ‘deplorable’ living conditions at Poulsbo home

POULSBO, Wash. — Nearly 60 animals have been rescued from unsafe and unsanitary living conditions at a home in Poulsbo, according to the Kitsap Humane Society.

Animal control officers seized dozens of dogs, cats, and a pig from the property on Tuesday after receiving an anonymous report alleging the home was overrun with animals, many in poor condition. Authorities said the report prompted them to quickly obtain a warrant to remove the animals.

“The only word I can think of is deplorable,” said Jamie Nocula, executive director of operations for the humane society. “There were animals inside the home and outside the home in varying conditions. The house was just overrun, as you can imagine.”…
