Ypsilanti fire destroyed ‘sanctuary’ for many grieving business owners

YPSILANTI, MI – For the business owners in Maxton Plaza, the fire means more than just losing their businesses. They lost sacred spaces.

“To have a sanctuary destroyed, it’s sort of like destroying a butterfly grove or breaking a church down,” said Naomi White.
