Crane on Church St. comes down as developer works to get more financing

HENDERSONVILLE – The contractor on a major Hendersonville luxury housing development is leaving the project as the developer behind it works to secure more financing, according to the developer. Work has been stopped since last year.

A construction crane that’s stood over the site of Fairmont Heritage Place – the Cedars, Hendersonville for more than a year was being taken down in sections March 18 and 19 by workers high up on the steel structure and others operating a second, telescoping crane below.

A worker from Turner Construction, which until recently was building the project, told the Times-News March 18 that the company was packing up to leave the site, a 3.5-acre parcel at 7th Avenue West and North Church Street downtown…
