Birmingham man indicted on charges related to drug trafficking

A Birmingham man has been indicted on four counts related to trafficking drugs and illegally having a firearm. Renell Nathaniel Cooper, 32, is a convicted felon that the court says had 50+ grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, along with a gun.

The indictment says that Cooper sold over 50 grams of meth and illegally possessed four firearms in Jefferson County on two different occasions, once in May and once in June of 2025.
