Shocking video shows off-duty NYPD cop shoot man who may have been involved in car theft — as he’s suspended

Shocking video footage captured the moment an off-duty NYPD police officer takes the law into his own hands and opens fire on two suspected car thieves — with the cop now suspended without pay.

The chilling scene unfolded shortly after 9 p.m. Monday in the Bronx, after the cop — identified by law enforcement sources as Jonathan Baez — got into his SUV and followed the men he believed were involved in stealing his car.

The officer then pulls up behind the white sedan when it double-parks on West 231st Street in Kingsbridge — and walks up to the car, firing multiple shots without warning, the footage shows.
