Lancaster School District delays vote on furloughing employees amid budget crisis

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The School District of Lancaster is delaying a decision on whether to furlough more than 100 employees, but district leaders said cuts are still likely due to a major budget shortfall.

During a packed and emotional meeting Tuesday night, the school board voted to postpone a final decision on a proposal to furlough 109 employees. The board is expected to take up the issue again at a special meeting next week.
