KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Greeneville woman who pleaded guilty to conspiring to create and distribute “animal crush videos” has been sentenced to more than a year and a half in prison, the Department of Justice announced on Thursday.
The DOJ said in a release that Katrina Favret, of Greeneville, was sentenced to 40 months in prison as well as three years of supervised release. In 2025, Favret pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to create and distribute so-called “animal crush videos,” as well as a second count addressing a specific video she solicited.

According to court documents, Favret used encrypted chat applications to send money to individuals in Indonesia who were willing to create videos that showed acts of sadistic violence against baby and adult monkeys.
