7-year-old robbed at gunpoint in South Memphis: MPD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for the person who robbed a 7-year-old at gunpoint for $10 near a park in South Memphis on Wednesday night.

Police were called to the 100 block of Vaal Avenue near Castex Street by the victim’s mother just after 10 p.m.

According to police, the victim was walking from Riverview Community Park on Kansas Street with his friends when he was attacked.

The victim said that the suspect, whom he did not know, put him on the ground and pointed a black handgun at him, went into his right pocket, took his two $5 bills, and then ran into an open field.
