ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — One Escambia County woman is taking it upon herself to coordinate transporting the late three-year-old’s remains, abused to death by his uncle, for a proper burial with his mother in Honduras.

Twenty-eight-year-old Samuel Maldonado Erazo faces a felony murder charge after Escambia County deputies said he severely abused his nephew until his death earlier this month.
The young boy, Orlin Hernandez Reyes, was left in his uncle’s care after his mother, Wendy, was deported in January to Honduras.
Through community sources, Latino Media Gulf Coast Owner Grace Resendez McCaffery learned the identity of the child and was able to get in touch with his mother.
“Why am I doing it? I think anybody should or would,” said Resendez McCaffery. “I’m also a mother, and it just hits home in a lot of ways.”…
