HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The death of a man found inside a kangaroo enclosure in Loris has been officially ruled an accident.
An investigation discovered that Erik Slate, 52, suffered from multiple superficial scratches and a deep laceration to the brachial artery due to the incident in May, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
“Ultimately, we cannot say how the artery was damaged (falling into fencing, gate screws, sharp signage or animal claw) nor can we definitively say when or how the scratches occurred (standing or lying down),” Willard added…
