Hundreds of citations issued as part of morning traffic enforcement initiative in Rutherford County

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Murfreesboro Police Department issued more than 200 citations as part of a new traffic enforcement operation Friday morning — and they’re planning on conducting the operation again.

The Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force — made up of the MPD, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, the Smyrna Police Department, the La Vergne Police Department, the Eagleville Police Department, Middle Tennessee State University’s Police Department, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the police department for the Veterans Affairs Hospital — helped with the “Early Morning Blues Initiative” from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m.
